Darker or Lighter hair colour? Your skin tone tells!

Well, I believe this is a very annoying questions that every girl would ask herself like hundred over times before deciding the next hair dye. As we all know that each time we dye our hair, it's getting drier and thinner which will make us to dye our hair as little as possible. Therefore, getting the right colour done for the hair that can last and stay longer is always our *mission to be achieved yet difficult* lol

So, darker or lighter hair colour? I have tried on my own hair, from my original hair colour to brown, then light brown, then super light brown, then red AND go back to dark hair colour. It's very hard to explain the hair colour with words, therefore I will show you some picture instead.

This is the very original hair colour I had since the day I born. Well, most of the people would say " Your hair is already brownish why do you still want to dye it?" Hmm... If you know girls well enough you will know why lol. You will never appreciate whatever you had *even though they are good enough*, but you will just try something else and eventually you will go back to the actual one.

First dye. I think I chose chestnut brown or something similar because I didnt want to get too bright in case I couldnt take it lol. However, as this was my first dye and my original hair was kind of dark, the outcome was not very obvious. As day passed, the colour started to fade off, and my hair colour got lighter. But you know, hair roots grow! I'm not a person who can withstand Malaysian so-called 布丁头 which means hair roots regrowth. Therefore I will actually change my hair colour every 3 months, which is very very bad for my hair actually and I know :(

And then, I was so super brave dying my hair into silky ash with Beautylabo of brightness 5/5. My hair is so light in colour, and to be honest I enjoyed having this colour for a very short time ONLY! It so light until it makes me look very dead and dull. Plus, as a design student who works day and night also have sleepless nights makes me eventually gain a very yellowish skin tone as days passed. I looked so unhealthy :(

And so, I changed to a darker colour. Liese antique rose. I was very very very happy with the outcome! But! It didn't stay. It faded of very quickly. If im not mistaken, the hair colour faded within 2 weeks. Perhaps I need to use special shampoo for red hair in order for the colour to stay.

But I was too ignorant. Haha. I thought the colour didnt stay because I did it myself. So I went to hair a professional saloon to have my hair dyed in red purplish.

Of course, the outcome was super satisfying. And of course, it faded off very quickly too. After a month or 2, it became brownish again. And that was my very last time dying my hair into light colour. And the left picture was the picture I took right before I dyed my hair dark.

And, dang dang! My latest hair colour!

Yes, it looks very dark. But it literally makes me look fairer and healthier.

So far, I have seen myself in different tone of brown and different brightness. I still prefer the dark hair colour. It is not that dark while Im at outdoor.

It is more to dark brown with the presence of sunlight. I used schwarzkopf dark brown palette. One package is not enough for my hair length actually, but I stress on the bottom hair because my hair roots is already dark brown. So the outcome was ok.

Sorry for the super long post and I found myself so super granny.

In short, if you have your skin tone as
-cool; you can have orangish reds, golden reds, golden blondes, rich honey almond browns and chocolate brunettes.

-warm; then cooler colours are your best bet! Ash brown, beige, champagne blond, dark reds such as violet or dark cool brunettes work best on you.

And you will ask, how to conclude if im having cool or warm skin tone? There you go:

This is the most informative graphic I have found online so far. It clearly tells you the proper way to identify you skin tone, and telling you how to pick the best colour that suits you in clothes and jewelry.

As for me, I will go on with my dark colour hair for instance. If only I can get the best way to keep the red colour to stay with my hair,  I will consider changing it into red because red hair is something I wish to have but too bad it doesnt stay any longer :(

Getting the right hair colour is so important for every girl. I hope you can pick the best hair colour for yourself after reading this post :)
